The reason why we developed the project "The waltz of the volunteers" was because we want to share essential steps to help local and international people to be volunteers in rural communities. We choose the "Waltz" as a keyword because 6 associations around Europe are working in the field, juggling every day among the development of activities and need of the volunteers during it, that's why we decided together with them to share with each other knowledge and competencies in the field of volunteering and, to share among 48 young people easy steps to being volunteers and develop activities and initiatives to dance with little community. The idea of the project is born from the association "Inclusion Go" which is developing volunteering activities in Pignola. We wanted to help the local young people to feel more included in the society and to support them to run their ideas. From this youth exchange we: - Prepared 48 young people about the volunteering opportunities at local and international levels; - Invited 48 young people to share among each other competencies and knowledge about active citizenship; - Shared48 young people tools to increase their motivation to be volunteers in rural areas; A lot of young people believe that going abroad is the answer to a lot of issues, such as the few job opportunities. This project help many local young people and 40 EU youth that joined us that even in rural areas we can still run social activities from which everyone can benefit. The project helped 48 youth to understand the value of their contribution, especially in rural areas community and the difference that they can do as volunteers.
