Objectives

This project idea was developed after previous successful E+ “Without Borders” in collaboration with participants from LT, Vilkaviškis Gymnasium Aušra and its consequent dissemination activities in school. We made a dissemination workshop for our classmates, where landing page with project results was used. Many were surprised by the idea that the landing page was created during YE. Lot of them showed a huge enthusiasm in learning these competences. After the discussion with our classmates, we came up with an idea of a project that could develop website building competences. We proposed our idea to our friends we met in previous YE from RO, SK, HU. While analysing our needs, SK participants offered the idea of connecting website building to freelancing considering that it is one of top demanding jobs in freelancing world (https://goo.gl/vF51Td). In this case, job offers are not limited by town or even country, what brings a great opportunity for young people that live in rural areas. Also, freelancers can decide about their work schedules which makes freelancing easy to combine with school or other activities. Goal of the project was to raise the sense of initiative of participants to approach self-employment by familiarizing them with freelancing as well as to develop their competences on website building which help to enter the global labour market as the freelancer considering the huge demand of freelancers in website building. Objectives achieved: O1. Increased competences of young participants from 4 countries in using website building as powerful tool in successful freelancing. O2. Participants from 4 countries exchanged ideas and attitudes towards freelancing and identified useful tools in freelancing. O3. Raised awareness of participants about the possibilities and advantages of freelancing and E+.
