Objectives

EU Commission states that Recognition of the competences and skills gained through volunteering as non-formal learning experiences is essential as a motivating factor for the volunteers and one that creates bridges between volunteering and education(Brussels, 20.9.2011, 568 final). Therefore, the recognition of volunteers and volunteer rights is the foundation of powerful volunteering practices at an organizational and national level. Providing a quality pattern for the institutional recognition of volunteer work is a prerequisite for a long term development and for receiving service or employment benefits. The objectives of the project were: - to exchange and transfer knowledge and know-how on volunteer recognition and management; - to improve the level of key competencies, social abilities and digital skills of participants; - to enhance the volunteer management capacity of partner and beneficiary organizations; - to foster quality improvements in youth work; - to promote recognition of volunteering to strengthen links between the youth field and the labor market. 6-days training course "Quality management - quality volunteering” aspired to bring together 32 participants from 8 different countries who reassessed recognition tools within their volunteer management system. Participants were provided with theoretical and practical knowledge on volunteer rights based on non-formal learning methods, technical expertise and practice on volunteer management best practices. By implementing this project we sought to achieve together with our project partners improvement and quality of volunteering management, recognition, share good practices, know-how methods in the field of volunteering (management and recognition), upgrade youth workers skills working in the field of volunteering and to foster quality in youth work.
