Objectives

The main goal of this youth exchange was to implement a series of childhood games, analyze them, find the glitches where competitiveness affects the aspect of inclusion and come up with new and improved version of these games that will have the accent put on inclusion. To achieve this goal, the p The idea itself was based on a selection of indoor and outdoor childhood games that require team work, a basic level of physical and mental activity and respect amongst the participants. To achieve the main goal, this youth exchange provided a safe space where young people could go through these games, engage their body and brains, learn how to take part in a team and respect others while doing it. The participants prepared the games beforehand, and modified them to support inclusion and team-spirit. Reflection was an important component of each activity, as it made participants aware that achieving results is important, but not the most important goal in life. It is the process and the approach that matters the most. Each workshop contained a reflective part where slowly but surely the participants began to understand that life is not all about winning, as the win itself means nothing if others are hurt or neglected while doing it. The activities were centered on promoting the importance of team-spirit, mutual respect and inclusion of all team members. The use of childhood games as a tool provided a non-formal learning environment where in a fun and relaxed manner, the participants acquired life-long valuable information. The activities required physical movement and a lot of social interaction which was a great combination to inspire young people to become more physically active in the future.
