Objectives

"Think!" - this is a youth exchange, which will be held in Luxembourg City and will be the starting point for an international movement with the basic idea of developing critical thinking skills, media literacy and the fight against fakes and misinformation. Participants of the youth exchange “Think!” will get acquainted with the main statistical methods, probabilities, and scientific methods, cognitive psychology, and concepts of cost-benefit analysis for the aim to develop the critical thinking of young people. They will be introduced to how this knowledge can be applied in everyday life, starting with the ability to choose the right product, up to the ability to criticize scientific research. Examples from different countries will be discussed. This knowledge will be transferred through the creation of a friendly and vibrant environment. Activities will include informal teaching methods (seminars, speeches, workshops, Icebreakers, round tables, outdoor activities, etc.) to meet the different needs and desired outcomes of participants. During the project, participants will use modern technology as a tool to distinguish reliable sources of information from unreliable. An 8-day training process, various skills, and knowledge will be acquired that will allow participants to plan and save more time, improve decision-making processes, improve communication and argumentation. The main goal of the project is to bring together young people from 5 countries who will work together to develop critical thinking skills and media literacy among young people. The intention is to make a project that will be implemented to solve the problem of fakes and misinformation. As a visible result of the exchange, we will create photos and short video-interviews that will help to deal with fakes and misinformation. They will be created in English and distributed among participants and partners of the project, as well as the Internet. The objectives of our project: Develop critical thinking skills among participants. Improve understanding of how media and social networks influence young people's perceptions. Increase media literacy among project participants. Create local events in youth institutions from the cities of our partners dedicated to critical thinking and media literacy of young people. Find common ground and innovative ideas for future partnerships using the skills and knowledge of people from different walks of life. Raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries.
