Culture diverse project brings 68 youths from 2 NGO's , 1 Municipality and 1 non formal group (NGO being set up) from 4 different countries together and opens opportunities for collaboration in subjects which have a common denominator namely drama and music, it opens and offers opportunities through learning, sharing, experiencing, cooperation testing new activities for use and social dialogue, which in turn prevents conflicts because the objective result would show how youth workers from different cultures can work together, create a project and ultimately run the project together, being a tool for use in their NGO's for integration. The participants will explore how through common instruments and drama used and played in various countries, can be the tool which gets us together and accepting others in society. Through this project we aim to share the common ideas of how as youths build a common project through the various artistic ideas brought in through the various cultures which would be partners in this project. We would create a network; create a common factor which brings together youths from different cultures and ideas, bringing down the misconception of different attitudes by opening intercultural dialogue, with a theme of together through music and drama breaking the barriers of us and them. The project will run over 8 months, having 2 youth exchanges for youths aged 17-28 and leaders to participate in the exchanges taking part in the project. During the planned activities the youths will organise and run various themed activities based on drama/music as the bridge which brings us and binds us together, though various role play games, discussion, talks, energizers, games and other team work activities to equip themselves with learnt tools for use with their youths back home. Following discussions between the youths in the participating NGO’s, they realized that young people cannot just look and do nothing when they see young people who are marginalized or refugees in their society not integrating among them and watching how society is becoming increasingly shying away from understanding each other and lack of tolerance to others who are not their friends, because this is a reality facing all of us including young people. Together a group of youths and leaders decided to start thinking on this project which aims to find ways how to better understand the different cultures and ethnic groups which are growing each year in our villages becoming more multicultural society. The project has a direct link with Erasmus + because it encourages youth workers European mobility to take part in actions (2 youth exchanges bringing a total of 68 youths and their leaders direct participants including 24 of which with fewer opportunities) that would be necessary for the better understanding of how through a common passion namely music/drama can be the binding force which brings us all closing and understanding different characters, opinions and ideas a necessity in today’s fast world were young people are losing touch with reality wasting too much time on mobiles. Besides, they would gain professional skills that would be beneficial in their future (debating, looking at an international perspective, creating activities). The main issue is that young people are becoming more secluded from society, marginalized, but NGO's and youths are understanding the common matters and problems which they are seeing as creator of violence and protest among different religious and ideas so through music/drama they feel and aim, that it could be the trigger of bringing more young people together to be the instigators of inclusion of young people back into society irrespective if they are refugees/migrants or socially/educational/economic problematic situations. The youth exchanges will have a non-formal way of presentation, introducing debates/discussions/drama/mime/creativity sessions and also using power points created by the participants themselves to show and explain the issues young people ( especially refugees/migrants or socially/educational/economic problematic situations) feel secluded from society, fears of other nationalities among them and identified that a common denominator which all love is music/drama will be the base used in the project through the creation of activities which will be used as the tools to integrate young active society. Visits to EU representative office /Local Mayor/centers for refugees/policy makers/schools to understand and learn on EU policies on youth policies and opportunities will also be included. The results will be youths better informed and equipped to be the ones who could stimulate the creation of activities locally, learning new skills, gaining better understanding of different cultures/traditions & the informed dissemination created through the mobilities used for long term benefits of society and youth integration in society.
