Objectives

The project and its activities were developed by expressing the needs by youth workers who work in the field of social exclusion with young people especially coming from various lesser opportunity backgrounds. The phenomena of exclusion and the necessity related by the boost of social exclusion rate among young people in European countries, pushed us to realize this project with our network of contacts aiming at fighting the social and emotional marginalization of youngsters. With this training our goal was to increase the skills and the background of the Youth workers, whom can offer opportunities to young people, to prevent and to remedy this exclusion. The main theme of this TC focused on raising European awareness of the realities and possibilities for more inclusive society in the anti-discrimination youth projects with marginalized groups focusing on the discrimination faced by youngsters and people in general affected by any form of disability (physical or mental), fighting against social exclusion. In line with the Erasmus+ priorities this TC aimed at fostering their inclusion and promoting intercultural dialogue and strengthen knowledge and acceptance of diversity in society. One of the main purposes of this TC was to create a space where participants may develop their own innovative tools and projects to foster inclusion of marginalized youngsters. The Objectives of the project were: - to get to know the situation about marginalization in the participating countries focusing on people with disabilities, and to share the different approaches for their inclusion at country level; - to share good practices about the importance of youth work in facing social exclusion; - to plan new actions to be used by youth workers in their local realities to prevent and combat social exclusion with a focus on people with disabilities; - to give participants effective tools/methods to increase the impact of youth work in promoting inclusion; - to raise awareness on the added value of diversity at local, national and European level; - to learn how to apply Erasmus + programme as a tool for social inclusion; - to create a network of youth workers active in promoting social inclusion and its benefits for the whole society. Unfortunately 2 partners (Portugal and Spain) dropped out of the project as these were not able to find participants as the youth leaders involved at application stage in 2019 have since moved on to other activities or work. The main reason behind this change was the loss of dynamic and change of structure of many NGOs and their main actors due to the effects of COVID and how it mutated our sector of Youth work. So the aims and objectives were only carried out by 6 out of 8 partners, even thought the number of participants remained the same as the EUPA allowed us to replace participants for this project from within the partner cooperation of WINDY.
