Objectives

The amount of young people suffering from an unhealthy lifestyle is raising stably. The impulses to lead an unhealthy life are increasing and the reasons to not do it are getting less. Every year even younger people are reported to suffer from obesity, misusing alcohol and drugs, suffering from stress and other mental illnesses due to pressure, not moving adequately and having lost the connection with their body and nature. That leads the young people to insecurity, self-shame and social exclusion. The young people are not feeling equal, or “ready” as they say, to participate in social activities due to their “disabilities”, as they see them. They prefer isolation than risking to be discriminated, to feel uncomfortable or to compare themselves with others. Heimat Foundation believes that this problem can be tackled through education and through active participation, while spreading good practices & the message of a healthy lifestyle among young people. Therefore we together with our partners are creating this project in order to support young people in “Healthy Inclusion” to get equipped with tools to lead a healthy lifestyle themselves and to inspire and invite others to do the same. Therefore the project objectives are: - To offer the chance to 35 young people from 7 different countries to meet and to exchange ideas and ways of thinking regarding healthy lifestyle - To offer to them useful tools and knowledge regarding healthy lifestyle - To equip them with tools to bring the message of a healthy lifestyle back home - To offer them the chance to practice active participation and online activism - To allow them to experience & understand social inclusion through healthy lifestyle - To bust their sense of initiative and to support them to create plans for social enterprises - To empower them to become leaders in their local communities, promoting their learning from the project - To create an online platform, as a reference point, for other young people and youth organization to look upon regarding healthy lifestyle As already mentioned before, with this specific project we are targeting at having results not only during the project period, but also after that. The goal of this project is together with our partners to create a method, a formula, of healthy lifestyle for young people that will last longer than just the project period. Therefore the extra objective that we have with this project is: - To create long-lasting partnerships regarding the topic The profile of all participants of those activities is: - Young people between 18-25 years old - With interest in the topic of healthy lifestyle, in one of the following parameters: nutrition, sports, mental health, connection with nature - Active in/ or willing to become active in social activism or activism for social change - Previous experience with the topic is going to be a pre but not a requirement. As previous experience can be seen: studies related with healthy lifestyle, social work, etc. , volunteering or working experience in one of the above mentioned sections, participation in other/previous projects related to the topic, etc. By the end of this project Heimat Foundation is not only seeking at having a group of young people non-formally "educated" on healhty lifestyle and motivated to promote this to other people in their local communities. We are also, together with our partners, youth leaders and possible endeveour participants targeting at creating a network of organization interested in and working on the topic. The long-term aim of this project is to keep on promoting the project results after the end of the working period and to create further projects and partnerships on the topic.
