Project ‘Sail for Unity’ is set up to organize a Youth Exchange, onboard the Dutch sail training vessel Eendracht. The project gives youngsters a chance to develop themselves, to get to know other cultures and become aware of their ability to make a change. Secondly, we want to contribute to the environment, which exceeds national borders and as such creates the need (and opportunity!) to come together. We will do so by conducting scientific research in to the plastic pollution of the waters we sail, learning about what we can personally do to reduce our own plastic footprint and reaching out to the local public of the places we visit. Participants will join an intense program in which we combine these sustainability related activities with intercultural learning and sail training.
