The project - ‘Fairly tales from Eurospace’ has been initiated by the youth from 3 countries: Poland, Turkey and Romania. The participants are 27 persons who came toward to partner organizations and proposed organizing a theatre workshop in social character. The idea occurred due to the interests and passions of the youth in stagecraft and they will to share it with ill and disabled children. By carrying out the workshop young people are willing to draw attention to important issues connected with the diversification of nations, to show the world the ways of overcoming intercultural barriers, and in relations with the ill ones and avoiding mistakes in perceiving otherness in all aspects. The main purpose of the project is youth exchange from 3 countries in the period from 20.06 to 29.06.2020 in Łódź in order to carry out a theatre performance in 3 tutelary intuitions. Scenario of the performance will raise important issues for the youth: awakening of awareness of cultural differences and intercultural dialogue by means of sensitizing them to the suffering of others. The project will allow the youth to get to know Polish, Turkish and Romanian cultures, gain and improve new skills by designing and making puppets considering cultural traditions of all the countries, writing a script of the performance, getting to know new forms of rehabilitation for the ill ones and principles of gelotology in practice. Puppets used in the performance will be inspired by characters from fairly tales and legends known in each of the partnership countries and will be made from recycled materials in order to show them how ‘waste materials’ can be reused and to draw their attention to ecological issues in modern Europe. Moreover during the exchange participants’ linguistic competences will be increased by acquainting with foreign vocabulary referring to theatre performance, understanding ideas of united Europe, team interaction and development of artistic interests. The youth by means of meetings with ill children will promote the idea of equality of the ill and the disabled ones in society, sensitizing others to their situation and pointing out that a disease and disability are a part of our life and cannot be ignored when being healthy and young person. Participating it the project will result in time in easier start on the labour market in multicultural character and will encourage to take social initiatives concerning the weak ones. The idea occurred due to internal needs and passions of the participants’ engaged in artistic activities directed to ill children. The purpose of the project is also to present a theatre as a form of art dedicated to everyone and which introduces the problem of modern communication on different fields of life by means of cultural transfer in art. The exchange will enable to carry out purposes of Erasmus + including cultural dissimilarity, its diversity, will enrich the participants with knowledge and experience in working with ill children, broaden talks about tolerance and respecting a human as individuality regardless of their current situation. During performing active stage forms an integration of multicultural group and overcoming communication barriers will take place since every participant will play a scene and acquaint with creative forms of work and awaken the need to experiment in the range of form creation. Our Foundation’s purpose is to support youth aspirations and we believe that language education and getting to know different cultures and relations with ill children will improve significantly their future work in international team, sensitize to the needs of others. By carrying out the project we will help the youth raise interpersonal competences (e.g. awakening trust, tolerance and empathy toward the weak ones, overcoming barriers, linguistic (necessary to provide communication in defined area of international environment), artistic (progress by means of stagecraft). Speaking through a puppet is a form of communication by ‘impersonal means of expression’ aka ‘animation theatre’. Richness of the artistic process in the relation between a puppet and external world is the process of creation: puppeteer – the character creator and events, the puppet’s partner who is able to change it into a creature, an object or a prop. We do believe that supporting participants in achieving educational purposes by means of involving the youth from 3 countries on each stage of the project (from looking for a hotel to picking up stage forms and theatre scenarios), enhancing personal development, awakening enterprise of the youth will increase their chances of employment on European labour market and broaden interests in modern forms of therapy, influencing directly their lives and the choice of their career in future.
