Objectives

With our TC we want to increase number of Erasmus + mixed-ability youth projects – namely, projects, which involve youth with different physical and mental abilities, give disabled youth opportunity to get life-changing experience and gain missing personal/professional competences. We want to inspire youth workers not to focus on the medical side of disability, but create for disabled youth possibilities to enjoy their right to participate actively in non-formal education. Together with our partner organizations, we want to promote art of inclusion, encourage creative and innovative approaches to inclusive youth work, since we can observe how terribly low is engagement of disabled youth in society and how big and undiscovered are their talents and potential. With this TC we aim: TC objectives: -Develop in youth workers professional and personal skills/competences, needed in inclusive work with marginalized youth –Get together people working with marginalized youth (the disabled) and provide them opportunity to exchange experience, good practices, meet partners for future common mixed-ability projects - Discover art of inclusion, explore and discuss with youth workers the concept of mixed-ability youth project (with both those, who are alreary working with the disabled and those, who have never worked with that target group) – Exchange good practices and ideas for interesting mixed-ability activities and get inspired –Create network, build new qualitative partnerships between EU/ Non EU Countries and Western Balkans, Eastern Partnership. - Motivate youth workers to organize inclusive projects and involve in their projects people with disabilities Our TC put strong emphasis on equipping youth workers with so urgent competences and methods needed in inclusive youth work with young people with disabilities. It respectively will improve quality and efficiency of Erasmus+ projects and naturally, quality of Youth work in EU/ non-EU countries will be increased. The mission of this TC is to contribute to breaking bunch of stereotypes and negative attitudes around disability – e.g. work with disabled youth “requires” special knowledge and additional funds, young people with disabilities are helpless youth, whom society should pity. We are aware, that social changes require lots of time. However, the more events like that will take place on different levels, the more visible and reasonable will be “inclusion issue”, the more inclusive will become our societies and as a result the whole Europe and the world will become better place for all persons, irrespective of their abilities and disabilities
