Objectives

We wanted to focus on Sustainable Development and how to involve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education. The idea was to give the tools and methods to Youth Workers, by using multicultural dialogue and non-formal education to then educate youngsters better about Sustainable Development in their communities, keeping in mind the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted in September 2015 by the United Nations. Education is one of the most important and relevant ways we to acquire any kind of knowledge, so it would be important that professionals and people who are directly involved with formal and non-formal education, in particular youth workers, teachers, and trainers, to gain knowledge about the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The idea behind the project was that through education we can touch all the other SDGs and make them a reality, and that’s why we see goal number 4 targets the primarily goals to work at. It is the vehicle for all SDGs success. Quality education also means quality in educational methods, and through Erasmus + projects, non-formal education could be a solution to our planet. Objectives With this project, our main objectives were: - Provide those who work with young people deep knowledge about each sustainable development goal, understand which are the specific targets. - Create new dynamic and creative tools to be used by trainers and teachers to explain what the SDGs are. - Understand what kind of activities and which are the goals that make sense to implement in each area of interest that will contribute to achieve these goals. - Raise awareness about the importance of the SDGs and active citizenship inside and outside of Europe. - Improve participants skills and competences in the promoting the SDGs. - Support participants in setting up workshops and practical application of the knowledge acquired in their local environments (planning project ideas in partnership during a TC session and providing support and support after the TC.) - Experience a non-formal learning process and understand how to support the learning process of the young people in the project. - Facilitate the creation of partnerships for future projects between organizations (through positive exchange between them). - Strengthen the skills and abilities of participants and organizations in working with young people and the international dimension and cooperation. - Recognize and enhance the quality of non-formal education and learning methods through the production of a blog and a booklet.
