Objectives

Initiate was an international youth exchange project implemented in the period of 1.01.2020 - 31.05.2022 within a partnership of 6 organizations from EU countries: Romania, Poland, Portugal, Latvia, Croatia, Greece. We designed the project in order to offer young people entrepreneurial knowledge and help them develop the necessary skills for their professional development. European studies showed the necessity of such a project based on the fact that unemployment among young people was still one of the most actual problems of the last years, entrepreneurship being one of the potential solutions. Meanwhile, traditional educational programs did not emphasize sufficiently on developing entrepreneurial attitudes and life skills. We outlined the project objectives starting from the realities encountered at the European level and the needs of communities of the partner associations, aiming to motivate young people to develop themselves and fulfill their aspirations. The objectives pursued within the project were: 1. To provide entrepreneurship education to young people and develop the relevant skills of the 42 participants, identifying 5 sustainable business ideas. 2. To equip youngsters with practical working tools and tips, creating and distributing "Young Entrepreneur's Guide" to 10 000 contacts (over 11 800 achieved). 3. To support young people in launching entrepreneurial activities and promote entrepreneurship among young people, through motivational videos produced and popularized by participants, targeting 3 000 views (over 3 500 achieved). Promoting entrepreneurship among young people, we were addressing the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme, as well as one of the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy, the final purpose being to reduce unemployment and social exclusion.
