Our project “Game ON!” targets youth workers that are working towards combating youth unemployment and volunteers who require new tools and a new approach towards the needs of their beneficiaries in the local community. Together with our 7 partners we thought of the work that we do and should do in order to offer each young person the best opportunity for healthy professional development and life stability. “Game ON!” consists of two activities strongly connected one with another. Together with our partners we have already identified youth workers from their organizations who will benefit from lessons of the project. The project has been developed based on their feedback and needs as well as our own. During the first activity, a training course, youth workers together with experienced trainers in the field of education and game design will learn how-to and work on creating prototypes that are suitable for entrepreneurship learning. In two month period after the training course, the youth workers will test their games in their local communities. After that we will reunite for an evaluation seminar, where we will collect all of the feedback for developed method, give space for improvements and planning of the future with the game or games we develop. Our main focus for the project will be the understanding and development of games designed for entrepreneurial and economical learning. We believe that entrepreneurship as a transverse competence, which applies to all spheres of life: from nurturing personal development, to actively participating in society, to (re)entering the job market as an employee or as a self-employed person, and also to starting up ventures (cultural, social or commercial). For us, youth workers, we have to, on one hand, operate in a labor market where fewer jobs are available, admittedly with differences of degree depending on where youth are located. On the other hand, it is increasingly likely we have to address structural long-term unemployment and poor employment, with all the consequences that entails. That is why it has become strategically vital to reinforce those working to increase the employment opportunities of young people, particularly with regards to excluded and low skilled young people. We believe there to be 3 principles that can achieve success: - Non-formal learning is essential to successfully equipping young people with the skills that will increase their employment opportunities. - Entrepreneurship needs to be nurtured among the young, as they are the business creators and innovators of our not too distant future. - Gamification is the application of game-design elements and game principles in non-game contexts. It can also be defined as a set of activities and processes to solve problems by using or applying the characteristics of game elements. The main aim of this project is to develop new methods through games for improving employability and self-employability in order to combat youth unemployment. Objectives: 1. To offer the theoretical and practical knowledge to develop an educational game aimed towards youth unemployment for 14 youth workers coming from 7 European countries 2. To support the addition of 7 relevant actors/organizations as part of a network capable to work towards creating educational games for different educational purposes 3. To develop at least 3 educational games on the topic of youth entrepreneurship during the implementation of the project. 4. To support the implementation and improvement through feedback of the games in 7 local communities during all stages of the project. With the training course we will focus on achieving the following goals: a) to create a coagulated team of youth-workers for the duration of the project; b) to capacitate the 14 youth-workers to support entrepreneurial growth through gamification; c) To offer the theoretical and practical knowledge to develop an educational game aimed towards youth unemployment for 14 youth workers. d) to divide all responsibilities and tasks among the group for the dissemination stages of the project, the testing period for the games in the local community. With the evaluation meeting we will focus on achieving the following goals: a) to evaluate the results of the work we have done in preparing the games of the training course; b) to implement the feedback obtained from the local activities; c) to prepare the final versions of the prototypes; d) to prepare the next steps of our network of organizations aimed at fighting youth unemployment. When it comes to the objectives of the Erasmus + programme, we will respond to these objectives: equipping youth workers with competences of critical thinking and sense of initiative of young people
