Objectives

The project started from a common idea of three of the organizations involved in it (Curba de Cultura, Lojtra and Nadejda). The idea has been further discussed with the other organizations that were partners in other projects and collaborations with and for young people. Thus we realised that we all face the same challenges and obstacles when it comes to working with young people and getting them involved in nonformal learning and youthwork in general. To support and validate these needs we made to investigations addressed to youth workers and to young people and only after that we wrote this project. The aim of this project is to contribute to the improvement of youth work through the following 4 objectives: 1. Developing design competences for inclusive activities for 21 youth workers during a 5 months period. This objective has been fulfilled through the main activity of the project (a training course that contained both theoretical elements and methods to work and time to put them in practice). 2. Improving competences of 21 youthworkers - that work with youngsters with fewer opportunities - competences to facilitate inclusive activities for young people for a period of 5 months. Every partner organization selected those youth workers (employees, volunteers, collaborators) that work directly with young people with fewer opportunities. Yet, due to the pandemics we were forced to deliver the training course online, and while this was a downside, the good part was that we could involve 38 participants, that got the chance to improve their competences. 3. Improving competences in developing monitoring and evaluating personal development plans for young people, using the Monomyth methodology (the Hero's Journey) among 21 youthworkers for 5 months. This thing started during the training course and it continued during the months after, period in which the trainees could ask and receive help and advice from the trainers, thus receiving feedback on the activities and plans created during the tc and implemented immediately after that. 4. Providing a framework for 21 youthworkers to use storytelling in inclusive youthwork activities and instruments based on Monomyth concept for a period of 5 months. Together with their supporting organizations the participants organized and implemented activities for young people, activities planned and designed during the 12 days of the training course. At the end of the project we planned to have a number of youthworkers equipped with methods and instruments focused on Hero's Journey and storytelling that are capable to work with young people in the organizations that they come from. Additionally they received support from these organizations. And because the youthworkers took part together to the process they became an informal support group in which they could and still can discuss, share methods, tools and approaches, b ut also situations and obstacles they meet in their everyday work with young people.
