Objectives

.Educational organizations, trainers in the field of education work in every EU member state for the personal and professional development and integration of people who are exposed to the risk of social exclusion. The practices used are efficient and successful, but there is a lack of communication between them, and, in this way, improving and enriching the experience with new approaches and tools to obtain better results in their activity does not reach the desired parameters. Socially excluded groups from the community are becoming more diverse, linked to increasingly pressing needs, confined, in particular, to the process of integration, ethnic, social, economic, linguistic, etc. inclusion. In these fast-moving conditions, it becomes more and more necessary for young people to want to acquire and consolidate as much knowledge, skills, and attitudes as possible, obtaining openness for the benefit of people at high risk of discrimination. Our project offered a safe, adequate space, in which the Target Group (GT-20 young people, 9 from Pleven-Bulgaria-sending country and 11 from Corabia-Romania-receiving country), aged between 15 and 18, they managed to acquire knowledge, skills and behaviors regarding the promotion of ethnic diversity and, implicitly, combating prejudices and stereotypes of discrimination of any type. The target group was of a mixed nature, including young people who are part of the majority and minority population. The group from RO was recruited from the Danubius Technological High School in Corabia, whose school population has a considerable percentage of ethnic Roma, but also from other ethnicities, and the one from BG was selected from 3 schools in Pleven. The benefits were double-targeted: for the young participants, directly, but also for other groups of young people on the verge of social exclusion. Of course, the project also had other indirect beneficiaries: teachers, authorities, parents, volunteers, members of NGOs-coordinator and partner, diverse public. Also, the "Involvement for Diversity" project aimed and succeeded in having the young participants develop a series of learning outcomes in a field of interest to them, such as the promotion of diversity, the agreed theme, based on analyzes and reports, so that they change their behaviors/attitudes upon returning from Mobility and let the openness manifest itself in a positive way. The activities were designed for young people to learn both how to experience cultural diversity, the non-formal methods, necessary in participatory learning, and, using various non-formal contexts, how to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes, in the field of promoting ethnic diversity. • The purpose of the project: Implementation of an exchange of good practices, in the field of promoting diversity, using educational approaches, focused on non-formal methods and tools, some of which are innovative. • General objective: Supporting young people, at risk of ethnic exclusion, by promoting diversity. Specific objectives: 1. Raising the awareness of 20 young people, directly, but also of approximately 400 other young people, from both communities from which the 2 partner NGOs come, indirectly, regarding the way to combat ethnic discrimination; 2. Development and consolidation of the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the 20 young participants from the partner countries, in the field of diversity, during the 7-day period, including the travel days of the youth exchange; 3. Improving the activity of the 2 participating NGOs, from RO and BG, in the post-Mobility period, by integrating the acquired learning results. The problems and needs addressed, through this project (disadvantaged groups, who face social obstacles, discrimination due to ethnicity, gender, age, religion), economic (orphans, from disorganized single-parent or two-parent families), linguistic adaptation difficulties and of cultural inclusion, etc. were identified, and the young people decided to participate, through the project, in combating at least one of them, namely: ethnic discrimination.
