Objectives

Disinformation is veritably false or misleading information that is created, presented and disseminated for economic gain or intentionally deceive the public, and in any event to cause public harm. It directly affects democratic processes and the freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. Young people are especially exposed to disinformation and fake news on the internet. That is easier by the lack of media and information literacy. This project intends to enchant media and information literacy and critical thinking. The project itself and its activities are designed to support young people during the whole project cycle to empower young people, including those with fewer opportunities, with new competences and experiences. Young people will take an active role in preparation and implementation of activities and in dissemination and follow up activities. This will improve their competences and experience regarding to organisation, team work and active citizenship. This way young people will learn by doing and will consider this project as their initiative and the way of changing the community around them. By this project partners want to raise awareness of young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, on the importance of combating disinformation, and to improve preconditions for democratic processes and respect on human right on information. Objectives: - To provide young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, with skills and tools for recognition of disinformation and fake news and with skills and tools for credible information access and critical evaluation and production of media content; - To support youth advocacy and activism within youth empowerment as an outcome in which youth, as change actors gain the media skills to impact own lives and lives of other young people and the communities as whole - To experience multiculturalism through meeting and working with youngsters coming from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. - To discover new approaches in non-formal learning influencing youth participation. - To become aware of European community and to use opportunities of Erasmus + program as a tool for learning about media literacy, how to access, critically evaluate, and create media. All the participating organisations have experience in work with youth, including those with fewer opportunities, from different backgrounds, and in organising different international activities. Some of the participating organisations have an experience in multimedia work and some in media literacy. These will directly influence the interest of target groups, such as youth and stakeholders, about the project. Young people, including those with fewer opportunities, will become aware of European community and of Erasmus+ programme and youth exchange opportunities. Youth voice in media and in community, participation, citizenship, citizen education and engagement are topics partners want to mainstream in commitment of young people they are working with. Partners will provide supportive and positive environment for young people and learning opportunities to develop their competences.
