Objectives

At the Idrija Youth Center, we enabled young people to develop their idea, to test themselves in planning and implementing a youth exchange and to support the development process within the Erasmus + program. Young people are well aware of the importance of youth activism in combating the climate crisis and that they must contribute to the awareness of the climate crisis and organize interesting events for young people, encouraging them to take responsibility for their future. With the No Planet B project we addressed the problem of too much waste and we encouraged young people to take responsibility and develop the ability to adapt to the environment. Thus, the exchange was based on the promotion of cooperation, collaborative learning, taking responsibility and promoting assistance among young people. Young people have previously pointed out that young people lack the challenges that will come to them later in life, that the school system pampers them too much in terms of preparing and carrying out various tasks. They also pointed out that many people do not know basic household chores. During the exchange, they acquired important knowledge and diverse skills and competencies. The goals of the project were: - mentor and support a group of young people who wanted to organize a youth exchange No Planet B, - empower young participants with skills for everyday life by taking on a variety of challenges, - encourage young people to take responsibility, strengthen their self-confidence and develop their ability to adapt to different circumstances, - strengthen young people with the competencies of cooperation and to encourage a compassionate attitude towards fellow human beings and nature, while strengthening / developing friendships, - to make young people aware of the importance of the climate crisis, to encourage them to think about what we can do against it and to transfer the acquired knowledge to the local community and beyond, - strengthen the international dimension of youth activities and the role of youth workers and organizations. The objectives of the exchange also followed the objectives of the Erasmus + program. With the project, we improved the level of key competencies and skills of young people, as they were empowered to more easily cope with everyday life. Through the exchange, we also promoted active citizenship and awareness of the importance of involvement in local organizations.
