Objectives

Youth work is facing various challenges in partner organizations of the project »Mapica, mapica na steni, povej«, translation »(Un)mapped grounds«. The power youth work has in building a society of healthy relations, democracy and the rule of human rights is reflected in covering of different areas. Youth workers in their hard work often unintentionally forget about themselves and the systematic sustainable development of organizations. With this project we contributed to the sustainability of youth work and organizations through empowering youth workers for their own and organizational sustainable development. Within the project youth workers and their organizations became aware of and (re)defined: - their personal and professional characteristics and the impact of both on youth work and the development of the organization; - their view of what "ideal" youth worker is and where and how they want to approach the ideal; - the circumstances and conditions of work in the organizations in which they operate and how to influence them; - how to identify the symptoms of burnout and how to avoid it; - the challenges of youth work and how to address them through cooperation, exchange of good practices and creation of new methods; - the importance of the internal balance for effective communication and the relations with the outside world; - social time, the challenges faced by young people, youth workers and society in general in partner countries and other societies; - the importance and effectiveness of methods for building a healthy society that emotionally engage and at the same time have sufficient space for critical reflection and judgment; - the position of marginalized, discriminated target groups who, due to various systemic and social barriers, do not have the real possibility of access to common social goods; - their own creative power and the creative power of team work to address various social phenomena through youth work; - the importance of the program, such as Erasmus + for the sustainable development of youth work.
