The project was developed in order to meet the needs of youngsters coming from rural and isolated areas who suffer from social exclusion due to their geographical and economic obstacles. All the organisations involved deal with this target and have already implemented activities related to the empowerment and development of these youngsters. The main activity of the project was the realisation of the youth exchange. The virtual "APV" took place in ZOOM platform and the youth exchange took place in the rural area of Banská Štiavnica, in the centre of Slovakia, which was in an area highly interested from depopulation and unemployment in the past and developing thanks to rural tourism. That allowed the group of participants to get more into the topic and to boost their creativity during the exchange, as they were in a context highly related to the topic of their activities. During the project the participants, guided by the facilitators, created business ideas which were then collected in a handbook. They also created a promotional leaflet of those businesses. The handbook and the leaflets were delivered to different related stakeholders and to our specific target by all the partner organisation. The activities brought to the reach of the objectives of the project in the following way: - Develop transferable skills and knowledge in participants, in order for them to apply them to future employment opportunities, particularly in the tourism sector. And development of awareness about career opportunities in this field: This objective was reached especially thanks to workshops and activities related to the creation of the business ideas, workshops about brand identity, online and offline promotion, storytelling, creation of the leaflet. The participants also got in contact with several companies and organisations that work in this field, through the research they did before the project and during visits to local businesses. - Inclusion and diversity and an acceptance of different backgrounds and abilities: starting from the preparation of the participants they have learnt about intercultural differences and had workshops about intercultural dialogue. During the exchange, the participants stayed in an intercultural environment with people from different cultures and became more open minded and ready to discover more about other cultures in the future. - Address the challenge of depopulation and impoverishment of the rural areas by developing new ways to support youngsters and include them in the economic development of their areas: one of the main outcomes of the exchange were to empower the participating youngsters and give them the tools and knowledge to change their communities. During the youth exchange the participants also presented their local realities, showing to the others data about unemployment, the socio economic situation of the areas and so on. - Promote the activation of socio economic changes in the regions involved in the project: participants created a promotional leaflet and the business ideas which were sent to the stakeholders by their organisation. They also met the local community of Banská Štiavnica. Most of the sessions have increased the creativity skills of the participants, they saw many examples of successful businesses and that inspired them to do something once back in their community. - Promotion of participants’ confidence and willingness to participate actively in society: the participants had a session on how to accept feedback, another on their strength and motivation, another about being an inspiration for others. The creation of the business ideas, which continued for the whole week, have increased their confidence and they realised they can make a change in their society. - Creation of a space where participants can evaluate their experience individually and in the group: this was done starting from the preparation done by each partner in which the participants started creating a safe space within their national group. During the exchange the first day was fundamental to put the basis for the development of a fruitful reflection. A workshop about Youthpass and the key competences was done both in the preparation and during the exchange. Every day the participants reflected in group or individually about their learning. - Stimulate the spirit of entrepreneurship of the participants and their inclusion in society: that was one of the main results of the youth exchange. The participants saw many examples about businesses and activities developed in rural areas, they visited an agro-touristic business, and mostly they had to develop a business idea themselves.
