Objectives

As DÜNYA-DER Association, we and our partners wanted to learn about the ideals that young people dream of and the types of society and state they design. We achieved our goal by producing a book called Utopia on this subject. The main purpose of the association is to enable young people to be more active in solving world problems. In this project work, we wanted to make young people active citizens of the world, and when we look at the global themes in the works they produce, it will be seen that the project participants made very valuable contributions to the project as active world citizens. In this project, we cared about the ideas of young people and aimed to bring them out without censorship, and we achieved this with a very valuable output. We have seen that the participating youth are aware of the most common problems of today, such as war, terrorism, migration, violence, economic problems, government crises, gender inequality, substance abuse, digital addiction and loneliness, and they have the potential to influence their environment, and to ensure that this potential is a source of motivation for each other. We did intense international teamwork for Good examples from Finland, France and the Netherlands among the participating youth; Lebanon and Ukraine, on the other hand, made significant contributions to the project with questions on how to overcome the crises they experienced. They formed ideas that participants would be more involved in youth councils when they returned to their countries. Participants contributed to the project at full capacity both intellectually and physically. They willingly and willingly created utopias. They also evaluated each other's utopias for the development of empathy behaviours. They designed new utopias with mixed groups. One of the targeted ones in the project; was to introduce the modern and effective art of criticism to young people through idea generation. Thus, young people would be helped to direct their energies to more useful areas and to be more beneficial to their environment, countries and the world. The fact that the participants were university students and graduates, and most of them had studied education and international relations made it easier for us to achieve the above goals. As the participant youth is targeted; 1- They produced a utopia book, 2- They grasped the cultural competencies, entrepreneurship and artistic competence of young people targeted by the European Commission and Erasmus+ program for young people. They learned that among the aims of the Council of Europe is to encourage young people to play an active role in the field of civil society in Europe and to ensure youth participation, 3- They produced more effective ideas for world peace, 4- They stated in a louder tone that they support human rights, 5- They added social development models to their utopia, 6- By participating in international activities, they provided intercultural interaction, 7- They made pictures and wrote articles showing that they care about world problems and want to contribute to their solution, 8- They produced ideas for the future of the world, 9 They created awareness about active citizenship, 10- They learned to apply non-formal learning methods in their lives. 11- They improved their language skills 12- They experienced acculturation. The meeting of 9 different cultures is a very rare development, especially during the Covid period. Our partnership structure brought together the young people of 9 different countries and contributed to a rich utopia book and a wealth of ideas. Young people's motivation increased. It was also an important gain for the promotion of Turkey.
