Through our on-going activities we realize that young people face every day huge number of media messages but they lack abilities to analyse them, to make difference between real news and fake news. And they are missing competencies to create media messages by themselves thus it is important to provide them an opportunity to gain new knowledge and increase their skills, to become media literate and to think critically about media content. By the project ‘Are you Media Literate? YES!’ we aim to increase media literacy among young people and develop their competencies to recognize propaganda, media bias, incorrect reports and disinformation. Objectives of the project ‘Are you Media Literate? YES!’: -to increase capacities of young people, including young people with fewer opportunities, to analyse digital/social media and to send own messages; -to increase critical thinking and active involvement of young people in discussion on the importance of media literacy; -to raise awareness of young people about the importance of media literacy with special focus to be paid to news; -to foster debate on tools of verification and fact - checking, digital media security, freedom of expression; - to increase key learning competencies including communication in foreigner language, cultural aware awareness, social and digital competencies; -to raise knowledge and understanding of young people on YouthPass, its role; provide space for developing new project ideas under Erasmus + Programme, KA1.
