Objectives

The 2008 economic crisis inflicted chronic damage on the younger generation as it led to a vulnerable labor market and, even a decade later, lower wages, fewer job opportunities, and the motivation to engage themselves in social and political activities that paid the highest price. According to Eurostat 2016 data, almost 14% of youth aged 15-29 years old dropped out of school or fell into the category of uneducated (these were young people who did not receive employment, education, or training, and who dropped out of any social activity.) impacts (lower levels of participation and trust, lack of expectations, and socially alienated deviant behavior), but also at an economic cost to society. Believing that a change must be reversed to eliminate this phenomenon, and this was the way our organizations took to support communities. We aimed to provide a unique opportunity to develop the skills of young people from Bulgaria, Romania, Portugal, and Turkey, to introduce them to the field of entrepreneurship, to enable them to take initiative within the framework of tolerance and respect, and to turn them into productive resources for our economy. "ENTREPRENEURSHIP DYNAMICS" was a project with the following objectives; - To provide more opportunities for young people with opportunities for integration and international exchange; - To develop mutual understanding between young people in different countries; - Provide participants with the opportunity to acquire transversal skills, soft skillsi and leadership attitudes through Entrepreneurship and Non-Formal Education; - Promote the participation of young people in education and/or the job market; - Promote the initiative, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of young people; - To raise awareness of the Erasmus+ program and to spread EU core values among young people. A youth exchange project was implemented, involving a total of 32 participants from Bulgaria, Portugal, and Turkey, each of whom is motivated and wants to develop their skills within the European framework. During the project, the participants worked on youth empowerment, participating in international activities, and developing soft and technical skills. The group consisted of 8 leaders representing partner organizations and 16 participants (who faced educational, economic, and geographical barriers) with less opportunity. In order to guarantee the heterogeneity of the group and during the selection, attention was paid to creating a balanced gender group with youth from urban and rural areas. Youth exchange took place in Mersin (Turkey) between 23-28 October 2021. The structure of the youth exchange had the following features: - A safe and interactive environment to ensure the comfort of the participants' learning experience, - Activities necessary to get to know each other better and discover local culture and habits, - Experiential learning and learning-to-learn method to develop social skills, - Non-formal education to develop personal and professional skills, - Reflection time (debriefing, relaxed-group, post-assessment) to connect with their activities, learning outcome, and daily life. In the youth exchange, Education through Sport and non-formal education methods were used to create a friendly atmosphere. Participants were given experience using different methods: Experiential learning, Self-reflection, Informing, Giving and receiving feedback, Intercultural learning, Exchanging and sharing personal experiences. This has helped them understand, develop their self-awareness, self-esteem, and practical skills. Participants left themselves as more effective individuals who were able to identify their best skills and acknowledge their unique qualities. We are confident that the results and outcomes of intercultural exchange will positively impact not only the participants and the partner consortium, but also the target group and the local and international community. The following long-term benefits were achieved in this project: - The project will bring a positive experience to the participants and helped them build self-confidence and personal resilience. - Participants learned to cope with difficulties with confidence and a proactive attitude. - "Support" created an international network and supported cooperation. - The project promoted workforce and education mobility.
