We wanted to develop a youth exchange to exchange ideas about the solutions to increase or maintain sustainability, to delve into the concept of resilience, as well as to help other young people to learn more about sustainability and to incorporate new skills and understanding to make a change in their daily lives and communities. We embedded questions how to support and exchange ideas as young people about all the environmental and social challenges, the complexity and the long-term way of thinking which is incorporated in sustainability. Taking into account this knowledge and new understandings we targeted to empower each other to start being more sustainable, create new projects and enhance our support to the people and place around us to make the earth a better and greener place. RASA: Resilience and Sustainability in Action aimed to address sustainability through the following objectives: - raise awareness about the global sustainability challenges that we are facing (climate change, air pollution etc) and understanding the science behind it through systems thinking - the specific social, environmental and economic developments that have led us to this state. - connection to nature, the people around us and our own inner motivation - finding the personal source of motivation while re-connection to nature through outdoor activities and nature education in a group setting (the social context). - support the participants to take action, in particular through finding the answers to the questions: What can each one of us do? How can we join the movement in our own way, with our own methods and talents? What can we do in our daily life, in our work, in our communities? How to engage more young people to join us, to care and to take action for a more sustainable world? - for the 74 participants to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes to be the change agents in our everyday life and in our communities (among those: leadership, problem-solving, communication, initiative-taking, working in groups and social context, being productive team-members, effective usage of resources, understanding complex systems and cause-effect relationships, learning to learn, outdoor life, personal development and self-awareness). - enhance the partnership between the partner organizations for more sustainable cooperation and future initiatives on the topic. - promote the results of the YE to the stakeholders and the local community. This project met the following objectives of the Key Action, Learning Mobility of Individuals, Youth Mobility of the Erasmus + program: - to support learners, including those with fewer opportunities, in the acquisition of competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) with a view to sustainability in practice and design their own projects - to promote active citizenship and increase awareness of sustainability in practice though outdoors activities in the area - to enhance self-empowerment of the participants and insert the idea of long term vision and sustainability as seen by the EU and the 2030 vision about sustainable development and sustainable development goals. It contributes for example in SDG4 for quality education and other goals related to environment and sustainable development. - to raise awareness in Erasmus+ among the participants and the local community and enhance the use of Youth Pass as a tool of reflection and learning deliverable. - to support the local community around Subtiluship CIC and disseminate the results of the program in local community We wanted to make this project not only for the participants, the partners but the local communities around us and as a contribution to society as a whole. We decided to focus on these issues because we personally care about the people and the planet and we want to make our contribution to a positive and sustainable change.
