In this project we aimed to apply peer to peer learning tools to re-engage early school leavers and dropouts back into community life and show the fun and effectiveness of non formal learning. Participants of the project were both young people experiencing difficulties with formal education and young peers who have experienced such difficulties in the past and were willing to share examples of best practice and start working with their peers through peer support. The partnership of youth organisations from the United Kingdom, Portugal, Lithuania and Estonia embraced the idea expressed by young people to develop a project to respond to the pressing issue of early school leaving as well as increase their sense of initiative and the sense of community belonging among early school-leavers. The partners felt that they had the knowledge, skills and competencies to carry out the project to bring confidence and inspiration to young people with a poor school performance and early school-leavers and develop their positive attitudes towards the learning process and reveal the features of non-formal education. The partners can stimulate social inclusion and enhance the sense of community belonging to encourage young people to practice active community participation. The project empowered young people with knowledge, skills, competencies and required inspiration to increase their sense of initiative as well as the sense of community belonging. The innovative aspect of thinking opened up new opportunities, gave way to an array of creative solutions and helped rethink the existing obstacles that hinder the achievement of the desired learning outcomes. Using non-formal education methods and peer-led activities, this youth exchange aimed at implementing the inspiring, active and creative space for the development of new ideas and exploring possibilities for the participating young people. We created a platform for young participants for the acquisition of the essential competencies for lifelong learning. The emphasis was put on the "learning to learn" competence to make participants' learning process continuous and perpetual. The educational objectives of this project were to: 1. Bring confidence and inspiration to young people with a poor school performance and early school-leavers to be creative and initiative. 2. Develop positive attitudes towards the learning process and reveal the features of non-formal education. 3. Prove that learning can bring pleasure and fun by applying peer-to-peer education approach. 4. Stimulate social inclusion and enhance the sense of community belonging. 5. Focus on knowledge, skills and attitudes young people need for becoming active citizens and how they can be acquired. 6. Encourage young participants to practice active community participation by developing and implementing own social actions. 7. Empower young people with the key competencies for lifelong learning with a focus on "learning to learn" competence. 8. Ensure better recognition of the acquired experience and competencies through Youthpass reflection system as well as national recognition schemes. 9. Bring awareness about the opportunities of Erasmus+ to empower young people having educational difficulties through social actions.
