By increasing language and media skills, the quality and efficiency of teaching in the optional subject Spanish and in foreign language teaching in general should be improved. The teacher wanted to acquire the competence to use innovative and digital media in order to effectively respond to the individual needs of the learners and to enable individual student-centred learning. The school wanted to attract more students to the optional subject Spanish and the subject should be established at the school in the long term. In addition, by learning a second foreign language and a world language, the students should be encouraged to gain their own experience abroad and, in the spirit of the European idea, to learn from and with people from abroad and develop further. The international reach of the school should be promoted and further European projects should be implemented.
The BAfEP Haspingerstraße carried out the project in order to open up internationally and to increase the quality of foreign language teaching, especially the optional subject Spanish. More pupils should be encouraged to learn a second foreign language in order to increase their employability in the European market. Another goal of the school was to promote European projects such as Erasmus+ and eTwinning and to promote their implementation. Pupils and teachers should be convinced of the concept of lifelong learning and trained in cultural and linguistic diversity and tolerance.
