The enterEurope Pilot project dealt with three topics 1) Job shadowing on the school development topic "School democracy: participation and intercultural understanding as a basis for violence prevention". 2) Getting to know the possibilities of Erasmus+ through real contacts at host schools 3) Erasmus+ empowerment through school networking on local and European level. Goal 1 was to initiate a dialogue on the defined topic of "school democracy" at the schools of the consortium and to introduce the participants to new ideas for other school development processes through job shadowing. Goal 2 was to give teachers and headmasters who had never visited European schools before access to this unique type of experience. The schools should be made aware of the possibilities of school development through Erasmus+ and encouraged to develop and submit their own projects. Goal 3 was to link and activate three levels of school development (school, authority, European partner regions).
The KA1 consortium project "enterEurope / Pilot" was based on an initiative of the Board of Education for Vienna (European Office) addressing local school development needs and opportunities under Erasmus+ programme. The European Development Plan of the project included three levels of school development: the schools, the local school authorities, and the connection of school development and Erasmus+. The main focus was on those schools that had little or no experience with Erasmus+ in the past. Thus, for the participating 15 schools, the possibilities for school development were highlighted. This opened up room for their own school development, increased motivation through internationalisation, and mobility among teachers and brought new qualities to the classroom.
