Objectives

This project thus pursued the goal of giving teachers who teach Catholic religion and/or foreign languages the opportunity to network with teachers on an international and intercultural level in order to jointly gain new ideas in the area of teaching activity and school conception that can be implemented at the Episcopal Grammar School or the educational institution visited. In this way the European cooperation, which is a special concern of the school management and is seen as an important part for further development in the school and personnel area, is to be further developed and strengthened. Exchange within Europe is particularly important for foreign language teaching and religious education, as well as for all educational areas dealing with culture, society and politics. Thus, in the context of this project, it is especially the linguistic, digital and social competences that should be pushed through the mobilities. Competent teachers should expand their competences in the respective subjects through this project, gain new pedagogical ideas and contribute to school development and improvement by implementing these ideas.

Background

The Bischöfliches Gymnasium Augustinum is embedded in an educational campus where innovative educational concepts are lived - from kindergarten to university. The Episcopal Grammar School strives not only to provide its students with a comprehensive general education, but also to educate them holistically - personally, intellectually, religiously and socially. In order to achieve this, it is necessary, under the aspect of the European Development Plan, to look beyond one's own country's borders and to constantly develop the institution of school. Thus, the exchange with schools and teachers on an international level is an enrichment in the further development of schools in Europe and Erasmus mobilities are therefore an enrichment for institutional and personal development. This project was therefore carried out in order to promote the international networking of educational partners, in that teachers of the Episcopal High School who teach Catholic religion and/or foreign languages established contacts with teachers of other European educational institutions with the expectation of enrichment on a personal and pedagogical level.
