The Bildungsdirektion für NÖ wants to implement teacher training in European countries to improve the quality of teaching as well as language and intercultural competences. We want to set up networks in partner regions. We expect our teachers to start projects involving student mobilities. In vocational colleges we want to promote job placements in other countries. Through structured courses and job shadowing this can be achieved. We also want the schools to exchange their experiences and share their profit from their European activities in their networks. We want to extend our networks and establish European activities on a regular scale. Through EU funded mobilities each teacher and student independent of their means and social surroundings gets a chance to improve their qualifications and skills. We value these initiatives and want to focus on them as an institution and thereby show our staff the importance and the value of these activities for internationalisation, improved quality of teaching and improved language or other skills.
The project “Teacher training on a European level: Special focus on intercultural, European and language skills as well as quality management and school organisation” is one of five concortia projects the Bildungsdirektion für Niederösterreich applied for since 2018 and the third one involving representatives of all types of upper secondary schools. We started these applications with the aim of making it easier for our schools to take part in teacher training and job shadowing by taking over the necessary applications and reports with the national agency. We want our teachers to improve their language and intercultural skills as well as exchange experience in teaching methodology, management styles, school educations etc This project focuses on staff of upper secondary education. CLIL is being implemented in the curricula of vocational upper secondary colleges. We want our teachers to be well equipped for this and improve their language and intercultural skills. Furthermore, we want to establish partnerships with schools and regions in other countries. Job shadowing is very important for this. Therefore it is necessary to deal with this not only on a school but on an institutional level. Only this way adequate promotion and a rise in project participation can be guaranteed.
