Objectives

The aim of this project was for our teaching staff to develop methodologically, didactically and content-wise in order to offer an education that helps our students to meet the requirements of the 21st century. Intercultural communication and cooperation, motivated independent learning, critical thinking and positive interaction with oneself and others are the skills and competencies needed to achieve these objectives. English as a means of communication and working language is indispensable for the students and the entire staff of HTL Leoben to be internationally active. Therefore, it has been necessary to constantly adapt the language competence of the CLIL (Content and Language integrated Learning) teachers and the regular language teaching according to the international standard and this was also a goal of our project.

Background

As a technical college, it is our ambition to educate our students in the best possible way so that they will be successful on the international job market in the future. To achieve this, it is necessary that our students not only receive a good technical education, but also that we educate them to become independent, motivated learners who think creatively and solution-oriented. Our graduates must represent social and ecological values and be internationally employable. It is a great priority for our school to keep all subjects and teaching methods up to date by reflecting and improving our teaching through new knowledge and insights. We see the international exchange as a great enrichment, because only in this way we get to know the views, problems and developments that exist in other European countries. We as teachers also want to be role models for our students and show them that we consider it as vital to constantly improve our skills and knowledge and establish international networks.
