In Sweden, the activities described in the project had the aim of giving the pupils an insight into the Scandinavian education system, especially into the practical field and the economy. Due to the educational goal in the curriculum, which attests graduates the ability to plan, implement and optimise business processes in terms of economic production and service, it is indispensable to increasingly establish contacts with foreign schools and companies. The aim was to implement individual practical student projects within the framework of the Erasmus+ mobilities, to confront oneself with a working environment in a different language, to exchange ideas with others and to learn in one's own subject area (e.g. wood construction, carpentry, wood technology). Another objective of this specific project is to increase cooperation with partner schools and relevant contact persons in order to initiate future internships. The more people can visit the partner organisations, the more new experiences can be imparted and incorporated into everyday work at HTK. +
The project was implemented to give motivated students the opportunity to work on a piece of work in a Scandinavian country, in this case Sweden, or to do an internship in a Swedish sawmill. A few years ago, HTK jumped on the Erasmus+ bandwagon and the mobility in March 2023 offered the first opportunity to get a taste of Swedish culture and working life. This mobility was already based on a visit of Danish students to HTK and successful job shadowing experiences in Denmark and Sweden. It was rather by chance that a school with a similar training profile was found that provided work placements for 10 students in the workshop. The sawmill Bergkvist Insjön was brought to the attention of the HTK by the Austrian sawmill industry association and internships for 4 students were successfully realised. The internationalisation of our school, internship opportunities for our students and the use of English in the CLIL context were in the foreground. +
