The declared aim was to sharpen the profile of our institution with a special focus on the subject area of "winter sports". This focus was deliberately chosen in relation to our collection and the research and educational activities of recent years. We were able to exchange ideas with relevant institutions in Europe and achieve important learning effects through targeted mobility measures. Last but not least, this has provided us with significant impetus for the strategic development of our mission statement, the content of our outreach work and the assurance of quality. We have built on the "Cultural heritage" focus that has occupied us since the corresponding European Year 2018. The focus was on the cultural heritage of winter sports, on which we are constantly developing educational measures.
A key aim of the project was to strengthen the role of the Klostertal Museum and its supporting association (Museumsverein Klostertal) as an important educational institution in the south of Vorarlberg. We took regional and international perspectives into account, but in particular we wanted to set a thematic focus on the history of winter sports. In the medium term, a Europe-wide network was to be established for this purpose. The main aim of the activities was to develop projects and partnerships with an international dimension. Individual mobilities (such as job shadowing) were used to increase skills and develop international perspectives. In our opinion, regional educational institutions (including museums) make an indispensable contribution to promoting political discourse in Europe.
