Objectives

The activity in the social sector required continuous further education and training to meet the changing requirements. Especially in this context and against the background of a growing Europe, exchange with other countries was extremely beneficial. The aim was to better qualify the professionals of the Initiative Jugendhilfe Bremerhaven e.V. and the Arbeitskreis Noah through practical experience with foreign experts, as well as to establish important contacts in order to better meet everyday challenges. The objective was therefore to acquire practical knowledge in real companies abroad for practitioners in the social field of child and youth welfare. An essential goal was to transfer knowledge to their own organization. Practitioners should reflect on their experiences and bring them into the operational environment. As part of an exchange, concepts and various approaches could also be discussed and exchanged. We wanted to focus the project on the development of a European responsible attitude and participation, as well as learning from European partners. Our main goal for 2024 was to apply for a KA2 for qualitative cooperation over the following years, including the publication of research results from the last 15 years of practitioner exchange between different partner organizations. This project is currently on hold and is being considered for continuation in the future through a collaboration of several Austrian organizations. This exchange was also to be continued among practitioners from various youth welfare institutions at the joint training day. This ensured that the current status also reached social workers directly in the institutions. Important representatives of the Vienna Youth Welfare Office (MA 11) were also present at the joint training day.
