Objectives

This consortium aimed to support schools in their training in personal services professions and more particularly those in animation and aesthetics. These are two booming professions suffering from a shortage of qualified labor. There is a need for professionals in the sectors of support services for early childhood, youth, the elderly and people with disabilities. In the beauty care sector, there is a need for qualified and qualified professionals as beauticians, who respect the ethics of the profession, know how to use new technologies, know and use quality products and who are prepared to adapt their practice according to the work environment and the type of client/patient. There is also a growing demand for socio-aesthetic care intended for people weakened by illness and insecurity, with the need to enhance their self-esteem through beauty, restore their confidence and reconcile themselves with their image. These consortia responded to the needs of schools to increase the attractiveness of these training courses and increase the number of enrollees; to give students the opportunity to discover other facets of the profession and acquire new skills.

Background

This project is part of a set of 4 consortia organized around training in the personal services sector, particularly aesthetics and socio-cultural activities. Following the success of the 2014 consortium in aesthetics and the impact for students in terms of their learning outcomes and their social skills as well as the impact on the teaching team in terms of dynamics, other schools wished to participate in the Erasmus+ program. The CCGPE-DGEO responded to schools' requests by organizing consortia in 2016, 2018 and 2020. These consortia gave 412 students the opportunity to do their internship abroad in aesthetics or social animation.
