Objectives

The aims of this project were, on the one hand, to further open up our teachers and students to European citizenship, as the latter often come from underprivileged backgrounds and don't often have the opportunity to go outside their home region. On the other hand, we also wanted to enable our teachers to diversify their teaching practices and our students to increase their employability through the acquisition of new transversal and professional skills.

Background

From the school's point of view, this project enables us to pursue the opening up to Europe that is part of our strategic plan. Furthermore, our school is located in a socioeconomically disadvantaged area. Since 2017, we have set up European partnerships with French high schools to enable our students to go on internships with French companies. This internship enables them to open up to Europe and improve their employability. It enables them to acquire new skills, both professional - by discovering new ways of working - and cross-disciplinary. By going off to work outside their usual comfort zone, they learn to develop their autonomy, their sense of organization, their ability to adapt... From the point of view of our teachers, our aim with this project was to enable them to apprehend new teaching practices so that they could apply them in their classes and transfer them to their colleagues.
