The main objectives of the project were: - to promote international job opportunities within our organisation and with our partners ("internationalisation of organisations" strand). In this way, we wanted to strengthen the European dimension of employment within Actiris and the members of the consortium, while reinforcing the synergies between the Brussels training and employment stakeholders. - to strengthen the skills of Brussels learners by supporting the acquisition of soft and hard skills through work placements, with a view to their (re)integration into the Brussels labour market. With an unemployment rate in the Brussels Region of 16.1% in September 2020 (11.4% in April 2023), those involved in training and employment in Brussels want to offer learners undergoing training or changing careers, as well as job seekers, a springboard to employment through work experience abroad. - secure the mobility pathway by providing high-quality support for learners at their work placements, with monitoring throughout their professional mobility project.
In line with the "Europe 2020 Strategy", the "Youth on the Move" flagship initiative and the "Education and Training 2020" strategic framework, Actiris promotes international mobility in order to increase the number of placements for Brussels jobseekers and thus encourage their socio-professional inclusion by strengthening their skills and opening them up to interculturality. Actiris has its own international recruitment support service department (Actiris International), with proven expertise in helping Brussels residents find work placements abroad, as part of their transition to employment. Actiris has taken part in a number of European projects, including : - Leonardo" in 2013 - European Solidarity Corps (VP/2016/018) between 2017 and 2019 - Your first EURES Job" (VP/2015/006) between 2015 and 2017 - Reactivate" (VP 2018/04/012) between 2018 and 2020 - European Traineeships" (ESF OP) between 2014 and 2022 - Boost your Mobility" (ESF OP) between 2018 and 2022 In addition, since 1998, Actiris International has been jointly operating the Eurodyssey traineeship programme with Brussels International, initiated by the Assembly of European Regions.
