New technologies, at present, are no longer necessarily vectors of the values which seem to us to be essential in the context of primary schools (we particularly target children aged 10 to 12). We want to educate as many people as possible in the use of good practices of the means made available to young people today and tomorrow. We obviously want to allow all of our young people to acquire these. The different partners have a large mixed population and our objective is clearly to allow everyone to access these technologies and their uses. Our schools today must limit the difference that exists between our young people by giving them access to these technologies. Our approach by geography will add a dimension of openness towards Europe and its diversities. This opening will take up different axes going from class to Europe. For each of the approaches (class, school, village, region, country, Europe), we will use a different digital approach ranging from the use of office suites (Office or Open Office for example), from the use of cameras to use of means of communication such as videoconferencing (eTwinning or Messenger for example) These two axes will clearly be in line with the official programs of the partners. All this will be done in the national language and English for an "intra and extra muros" opening.
In a very particular context linked to Covid, all the partners wanted to give the best of themselves to achieve all the objectives that had been initiated in the initial project. All activities took place according to a schedule that was regularly updated according to the Covid episode. These different activities made it possible to use different IT tools in the context of young people's learning in Europe! The first activity consisted of an individual presentation based on an identity sheet in English and the creation of an avatar. The second activity consisted of a presentation of the school as well as the commune or village. For this activity, we called on resource persons or associations to take photos. These have been used in the context of exhibitions at the various partners' sites. This activity used the book Creator software. We printed a few books for distribution. With regard to the third activity, we presented our country. The software used was Book Creator or PowerPoint. During our transnational meeting, all the productions were displayed in the school visited. Following the acquaintance, a quiz was organized between the different partners. The teams included children from each country as well as one adult. The fourth activity allowed us to compare the different countries within the European community according to predefined themes! We used Canva software for this work. The productions were printed and allowed a temporary exhibition to be set up in schools. For the fifth activity, we used different software programs that allowed us to present the timeline of European history! These different productions were presented orally by the children in front of a large audience! This was the first experience for most of them and the language used was English. During this transnational meeting, we visited the capital of Europe as well as the exhibition set up by the European community on the history of Europe. No less than fifty people participated in this activity. We can therefore consider that we have respected the evolution put in place at the beginning of the project. In terms of English, our students have gone from stammering to a constructed oral presentation (of course with the pre-established materials). The computer tools used, whether in terms of hardware or software, have allowed our students to acquire basics that will be useful throughout their lives. We also emphasized the importance of file management at the import and export level so that as many people as possible can benefit from the results! This project has established a solid foundation between the different partners as well as between many students. We hope to continue working together on Erasmus projects in the future while integrating new partners.
