The European development plan is included in our school's multi-year plan 2018-2023. Central to this development plan is achieving lifelong learning within a European context. HIVSET eventually wants the majority of staff to gain foreign experience. The European experience will be integrated in a sustainable way into the school's own professionalisation and within quality and pedagogical management. This plan includes 4 major working themes: 1.Managing diversity at school Making quality assurance manageable 3.Powerfully stimulating a stimulating learning climate at school by focusing on new learning and teaching methods that set the tone for tomorrow's school 4.Resilience: Resilience and psychological well-being take a central place in all courses throughout HIVSET as a caring school Through these four major themes, we aim to improve quality at European level by strengthening key competences of staff in dealing with diversity, quality assurance, innovation and resilience. HIVSET is thus strengthened in its intercultural well-being in a European dimension for lifelong learning.
In terms of staff mobility, HIVSET has had interesting learning partnerships within Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus+ for many years. Each time with a clear link to the learning needs of the school. As an organisation, we participated in structured courses, and initiatives such as job shadowing and teaching assignments. All staff members who had experiences abroad brought innovative ideas, based on the selected learning needs of the European Development Plan. Staff members return motivated every time and learned concrete didactics, new tools and tips for promoting classroom and school practice through courses, job shadowing or teaching assignments. The experience and expertise gained are always disseminated within departments and professional working groups. Because the school is always facing new challenges (large variety of care courses, students, social changes, changes in the field of education) and because staff members always return inspired and full of new ideas and insights after a European mobility, we continue to dedicate ourselves enthusiastically to this.
