Objectives

The following objectives were prioritised: 1) Promoting the attractiveness of Dual Learning by offering exciting international work experiences to young Dual Learners. 2) To increase the employment opportunities of the participants through enriching and strengthening the professional and personal competences - and the own international network - of Flemish Dual Learners through their participation in a foreign internship. 3) Raising awareness of the importance and added value of the international dimension, not only among the participants themselves, but also among their class and centre/school peers, and ultimately also the teachers and centre/school management. 4) The further consolidation of the Flemish as well as international project partnership, as instruments to be able to send out more and more learners in increasingly high-quality ways 5) Facilitating participation in the project by pupils from Dual Learning with "Special Needs" (BUSO Dual Learning).

Background

We wanted to support the consortium members to foster the qualitative development of VET in general and Dual Learning in particular through internationalisation. We wanted to learn from success stories (but also from mistakes!) from other EU Member States, and this both at the level of the actors within the education component and within the workplace component. Therefore, we needed to remove barriers for the actors mentioned above, by involving them directly or indirectly in mobility projects for the final target group, bringing the "unknown" already closer to their working environment in a positive way. After all, internationalisation offers the participants in the Erasdu project many benefits, such as the development of their professional and generic work competences, but also personal ones such as language skills and independence. Moreover, we wanted to perpetuate and strengthen the education-network cooperation from the 2 first ErasDu projects. In addition, the partnership built and shared knowledge and experience on planning, organising, managing and evaluating KA1 projects.
