With this project, we wanted to: 1. Embed internationalisation in classes, study fields and departments, 2. Expand the number of eTwinning projects and work more quality driven, 3. Involve more staff and more learners in mobility activities i.e. implement all graduate study fields in Erasmus+ mobility activities, 4. Focus on long-term and high-quality mobility activities (ErasmusPro) within the truck driving department, 5. A more efficient preparation and follow-up of participants in mobility activities, in order to make a more conscious and accurate choice i.e. selection, qualification test, language,... and 6. Focus on (re)orienting the attitude formation of young adults i.e. accepting and respecting decisions, getting to know working attitudes abroad, consciously doing groceries, being able and willing to cook, exercise, interculturalise, ... .
Companies are increasingly 'interculturalising'. Our students are getting more and more in touch with foreign ideas and thoughts, with intercultural, social and civil competences. Recent KA1 projects in the Erasmus+ programme (Truckstars on the Road (2014), Werkplek-leren in Finland (2016) and Werkervaring in Finland en Zweden (2018)) focused on truck drivers, electricians and woodworkers. I AM a VET (International Atlas Movers Vocational Educated Trainee) aims to introduce all graduate study fielsds of the domain Techniek & Innovatie (Atlas College Genk 6) into Erasmus+. I AM a VET is a European internship or project for the final-year students of the domain Techniek & Innovatie (Atlas College Genk 6). Work-related, language, ICT, civil and social competences then take on a unique international context for these students. I AM a VET for teachers (general and vocational subjects) aims more recognition and responsibility for the selection procedure and preparation of mobility learners, the achievement of objectives and learning gains, as well as an (more) active role with a view to a teaching/training activity or job shadowing, allowing them to evaluate, renew and adjust their own teaching methods and resources.
