At our school there are two courses that have done international internships. Firstly, the study program Tourism (a sixth year) and secondly the study program International Transport and Logistics (a seventh year called ITL). The overall objectives for both courses of study are the same: 1) Improve language skills by practicing daily in practice. The students are usually raised in a different language (Turkish, Arabic, etc.). They sometimes speak French with friends and family, and Dutch at school. A major asset for our graduate students is that they are multilingual. 2) Improve geographical and historical knowledge of Europe 3) Increase affinity with different cultures and customs 4) Strengthening the substantive skills and competencies that are relevant to their field of study and their further professional career 5) Supporting the personality development of our students by, among other things, increasing self-confidence and increasing communication skills 6) Discover the international businessworld and appropriate it, thereby increasing their chances on the labor market
Together with our School Group GO! Antwerpen we have been focusing on internationalization and Europe for several years. Dozens of teachers have already taken part in mobilities in Europe around innovative education and quality management. In addition, this application was a follow-up to an initial VETKA2 in which our students gained particularly educational and enriching experiences. Overall we pursue the following objectives: 1. Creating a broad network at European level to stimulate international cooperation: 2. giving more opportunities to students with a disadvantaged profile: by strengthening the level of competencies and skills at an international level.
