With internationalisation at Campos, we always aim to achieve goals within two domains: GOALS FOR PUPILS * Language acquisition. Through the OLS platform and locally, we wanted to raise our students' English and Spanish language levels. * Sharpening communication skills. We wanted to teach pupils to communicate with various partners: via logbook with teachers, via social media with home front, orally with supervisor, ... * Acquire independence. We wanted to teach pupils to stand on their own two feet. Staying, working and living in a foreign city. * Teamwork. We wanted to encourage our pupils to work together as a team: with fellow pupils, supervisors and colleagues on the shop floor. This also sharpens their social skills, and can increase their self-confidence and well-being. * Being open to foreign cultures. We wanted our pupils to realise that people live and work differently elsewhere in Europe. They have to deal with this and respect it. GOALS FOR MANAGEMENT, STAFF AND SCHOOL * We wanted to create a positive school climate. * We wanted to create an international dynamic. * We wanted to integrate new insights into our own school organisation.
When we submitted this application, we had already been organising work placements abroad at Campos for several years. At that time, we chose London (Great Britain) as the destination for about 20 tso 6 pupils (technical secondary education) and Lille (France) for about 10 bso pupils (vocational secondary education). As these three-week placements were certainly a success story, for pupils, teachers and school, we wanted to follow this up with this application. Moreover, with this project we wanted to further expand internationalisation at our school. Thus, we now applied for an additional 10 places with which our students 6 Tourism could do a compulsory three-week internship in Seville. So in the end, this application involved 80 participating final-year pupils and 24 accompanying teachers, spread over two school years. For each school year, we wanted to select 20 pupils 6 tso to go on a three-week corporate internship to London with 4 supervisors; 10 pupils 7 bso to go on a three-week corporate internship to Palanga (Lithuania) with 4 supervisors; and 10 pupils 6 Tourism to go on a three-week hotel internship to Seville (Spain) with 4 supervisors.
