Through our Erasmus+ placements for our pupils, we aim to achieve a wide range of goals. We aim for both professional and personal development, with pupils honing their skills and developing intercultural competences. We also want pupils to gain valuable knowledge, insight and experience in the healthcare sector, which will enhance their career opportunities and enable them to contribute to society. We want them to grow outside their comfort zone, which will increase their self-reliance and make them stronger in dealing with challenges. Budget management is also important. Problems that arise are seen as opportunities to learn and positively reverse the learning curve. Above all, we want to strengthen the sense of European citizenship, with participants gaining a deeper understanding of European values, cultures and communities. All this contributes to more inclusive, skilled, and engaged individuals and creates a positively diverse society. Sending our students on Erasmus+ placements is an investment in their future.
We applied for an Erasmus+ project for our mainly disadvantaged students in the care sector for several reasons. Firstly, it offers the pupils a unique opportunity to gain international experience in the care sector, exposing them to various approaches and cultural differences within their field. In addition, participation increases our students' opportunities in the labour market. They not only enhance their professional skills, but also acquire intercultural competences. Pupils get the chance to step outside their comfort zone, become more independent and increase their self-confidence. This contributes to strengthening European citizenship. They learn to work together in international teams, understand different cultures and appreciate the values of diversity and inclusion. An Erasmus+ project will give our healthcare students the opportunities they deserve and broaden their horizons while contributing to a more inclusive and connected European community which makes them more attractive to employers in a globalised world.
