In this project, we want to give our 6th and 7th year students the opportunity to undertake an internship abroad. Each internship frames within the curriculum of the specific courses and is given its own objectives that we want to achieve through these internships. Besides improving self-reliance, languages and citizenship, the focus is also on further expanding their subject-specific competences. Each group also gets one or two accompanying teachers. They act as bridge figures on site. Moreover, this is also very useful for the accompanying teachers, they learn a lot during this period. The internships are an integral part of our pupils' Integrated Project. (GIP). Our objectives of job shadowing for staff were mainly to learn from colleagues abroad and bring expertise gained to our school.
One of our main pillars and promises to our pupils and staff is to 'challenge and push boundaries'. Experience shows that a foreign experience, such as an internship, job shadowing or an international collaboration, has a positive impact on the personal development of pupils and staff. Moreover, we are convinced that human encounter in an international context brings different dimensions of learning.
