The aim of the internships abroad is obviously to increase/expand professional knowledge. Through the internship, they come into contact with new techniques and skills, new products and recipes. In addition, we attach at least equal importance to the participants' personal growth: self-reliance, problem-solving thinking, perseverance, increasing social skills, developing an understanding of other cultures, independence, being able and daring to speak another language. After all, many of our students have never been abroad before, let alone without their parents. It is a unique way to work on themselves and further develop their personalities. Moreover, they come into contact with other cultures, which also benefits their tolerance at home.
ErasmusPro: Through internships abroad, we want to increase our (vocational) students' self-reliance, self-confidence, social skills, the courage to speak a foreign language and work in an international team. After all, the food and catering sector is pre-eminently a sector where these characteristics are given great importance. The duration of the internship allows a placement provider to invest more in the trainee, which also strengthens professional skills. Erasmus Short term: Many of our students have never been to another country before. It is a double-win for them if they can do an internship abroad. They push their boundaries literally and figuratively, both practically and personally, and it is often a first stepping stone to an ErasmusPro experience. The (compulsory) two-week classroom placement gives our students the chance to do an internship in a renowned French company. Without Erasmus, this experience would be priceless for our pupils. The presence of accompanying teachers provides a sense of security. Many of our pupils come from underprivileged families and would never be able to do this on their own.
