We want to make our students grow on different aspects while executing this project. The main goals of our project were ‘ to remove our students out of their vulnerable situation to make them achieve work attitudes, social skills and technical competences’ and ‘ to let our colleagues, who are jobshadowing, gain new insights and to lay the foundation for working out the new projects ’. We work together with local organizations and educational institutions to start new projects in the future. That way we want to visualize the bottlenecks and find solutions together. We want to grow with other international colleagues by thinking about mutual challenges. We want to make our students have fate in the institutions, in education and in the society with this internship. We want to motivate them with this international internship and we want to stimulate them to develop their talents on different aspects.
We filed this project because we believe that learning outside the school and in an international context will let our students to grow in different levels. We take them out of their known environment for three weeks and let them work in a retirement or a children home in Aruba. During this internship of three weeks the students will work on their professional and technical competences, their social skills and they will widen their view of the world. This project is still a unique opportunity on every aspect. An opportunity our school and team we fully supports. Our trust in these internships keep growing because of our previous internships. The upside of these internships is indispensably big for all those involved. It is a project suitable for our target group. It is a challenge to take our students on an internship abroad. We take up this challenge because we know out of experience that this learning process and impact are immense. Our students are doers, not thinkers. This project is a value for our regular functioning. Learning together, works!
