Objectives

Thanks to the project, after the first corona pandemic, 16 pupils and 11 supervisors were given the opportunity to go abroad for the first time. The students have been able to gain important experiences abroad, professionally and socially, and have learned numerous skills from professionals abroad in a 'foreign' environment. By inviting forestry experts, we were able to train our pupils in the safe use of forestry equipment, in a foreign language. This triggered more pupils to undertake an internship abroad.

Background

The school now has 10 years of experience in organizing pupil internships and training/internships for teachers abroad. This has mostly proved to be a success in the past. And that is why the school wants to continue to invest in this. We want to give more students the opportunity, thanks to the European Commission and the Erasmus+ program, to gain an experience in their field of interest. The participant reports always showed that they had learned something new, they were always grateful that they were given the opportunity to embark on this foreign adventure. Inviting foreign experts also fitted perfectly in the preparation process leading up to the internship. It is very instructive for the teachers to see how their subject is taught in other countries or which methodology is used to introduce certain subjects. This also fits perfectly in the lifelong learning vision. In addition, the enrichment of the cultural background and training in a foreign language are of course also a bonus. The school wants to build and maintain a certain continuity in organizing high-quality internships abroad thanks to Erasmus+. There is already more interest among students and teachers to participate, also outside the agricultural subjects.
