Background

We are living in rapidly changing society characterized by increasing cultural diversification, digitization, individualization, consumerism, etc. Although these evolutions create many opportunities, they also pose numerous social challenges such as polarization, radicalization, discrimination, fake news, climate change and recently the Covid-crisis. In this context, it is often not easy for young people to explore and develop their own identity and express their voice in a safe way, with respect for others and European values. Players in the field of education, youth work and the creative sector acknowledged the need of young people to be reinforced regarding their resilience, civic competences, creative coping and awareness of European values in this challenging social context. However, they are struggling to cope with these challenges in a sustainable way. On the other hand, we noticed among all these players also a lot of energy, creativity and willingness to handle these challenges. This project allowed Universities of Applied sciences, creative organizations and secondary schools to exchange, learn, experiment, innovate and disseminate creative methods for and by young people to foster dialogue.
