The project "Volunteering for Youth as a tool for Inclusion" was a seminar aimed to share experiences, practices and methods about the Inclusion of minority groups and youth with fewer opportunites as a way towards greater Inclusion and a peaceful society for the participants representing their volunteering organisations. The SCI network (Service Civil International), composed by branches and partner organisations all around the world has been active in intercultural exchanges for decades and organizing mostly traditional short term projects (2-3 weeks) and long term volunteering projects (several months). The main objectives were to explore about other kinds of volunteering that would be more inclusive (ex : local projects including vulnerable groups of people, subsidised projects adapted to vulnerable groups like Erasmus+, youth exchanges or specific ESC projects, increase of regional exchanges and partnerships, Visa issues and increase of South-North exchanges for more equality), to work on the vision of volunteering itself (decolonization of the practices in order to fight against stereotypes and dominant ideas for more equality, awareness about privileges related to skincolour, gender, social status, etc and issues related to the patriarchal system, use of inclusive communication for the whole network, discovering about the challenges in different working contexts) and to produce guidelines about this specific topic that could be adapted /used by the SCI network and further on by other organisations working in the sector of the volunteering and inclusion.
