Objectives

From July 9 to 18, 2023, we brought together 32 young people and 4 facilitators from Belgium and Morocco in Morocco. Our aim was to create an inclusive space for cultural exchange. We sought to explore a new working method to promote interculturality and universal values, using storytelling as a tool. The objective was to provide both organizations with tools to address and strengthen their social cohesion efforts while developing participants' cross-cutting skills, enabling them to become ambassadors for universal values. Participants had the opportunity to explore various ways of promoting these values across different cities in Morocco, including Safi, Essaouira, Agadir, and Taroudant, while incorporating storytelling from Belgium and Europe. The objectives of our project were: Create a space for intercultural meetings and exchanges—an inclusive environment integrating all diversities within our society (gender, sociocultural, economic, religious, etc.). Explore how stories convey values. Investigate the values found in different stories and across various countries, identifying those that are universal and can bring us together. Transform these values into unifying principles that transcend our differences. Teach participants how to express themselves, organize their narratives, and use various tools for assertive communication. Encourage participants to contribute to a society that upholds universal values.
